What is Lean Six Sigma?

Lean Six Sigma is a process method that requires a collaborative team effort to help improve the performance of a business or organisation by systematically removing waste and reducing costs and variations.

What is the difference between Lean and Six Sigma?

While both Lean and Six Sigma have ultimately the same goal, the main difference between Lean and Six Sigma is that they identify the root cause of waste differently.

How is Lean Six Sigma different from other problem-solving processes?

Lean Six Sigma is perfect for businesses and organisations that are looking to streamline their processes and offer as much value to the customer as possible. It focuses on improving customer satisfaction and bottom-line results by reducing variation, waste, and cycle time, while promoting the use of work standardization and flow, thereby creating a competitive advantage.

In short, a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt is an improvement team and project leader, often with the authority to deliver large-scale process improvements and administer teams of Green and Yellow Belts.

What is a Green Belt?

Lean Six Sigma Green Belt is the intermediate level of Lean Six Sigma certification. Green Belts are able to lead projects and assist Black Belts with their roles in managing data and analysis.

What is a Yellow Belt?

While Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt classes are an effective introduction to Six Sigma and Lean concepts, the course is primarily designed to provide a mid-level understanding of the tools and techniques involved. For that reason, Yellow Belt courses are most effective when they are delivered to professionals with a dedicated interest in process improvement.

This is all dependant on what course you decide to do, but it can take anywhere from two to five days to complete.

What is required for Yellow Belt certification?

Anyone who would like to better their management skills or pursue further education in the process improvement field is welcome to attend a Yellow Belt course.
